Rainfall was beneficial to the country’s dry lands
After a series of droughts in recent decades, severe rainstorms began in Mazandaran and Golestan provinces since Esfand, and extended to most provinces of the country, especially in the southern provinces of the country.
These rains led to the flooding of the rivers to the villages and cities and did affect different sectors of agriculture; according to the latest figures from the Ministry of Agriculture, the floods in the country caused more than 13 trillion tomans damage to producers by Farvardin 25th. The various sub-sectors of the agricultural sector, including cultivation, industry, agriculture, horticulture, livestock, poultry, aquaculture, bees and infrastructure, and water supply networks, are the main source of damages for Khuzestan province.
In spite of the numerous floods across the provinces, some officials and experts in the agricultural sector believe that rainfall will have a positive effect on the performance of the agricultural sector in the coming years.
Minister of Agriculture Mahmoud Hojjati said: “With heavy rainfall and flooding, many of our compatriots faced serious losses, but we do not forget that this rain has a lot of blessings for our country that will make its work this year and the coming years.
