The world’s largest exporters in the wheat market this year

The US Department of Agriculture, in its most recent prediction, said the European Union could be ahead of the United States as the world’s second-largest oil exporter in the 2020-2019 seasons, but it would still be far from the No. 1 exporter.

The European Union lost its title to the world’s largest wheat exporter three years ago, when adverse weather conditions dampened French production.

The US Department of Agriculture predicted in its monthly report that the European Union will export 27 million tonnes of wheat in the 2020-2019 season (from July 2019 to June 2020), which will grow by 12.5% compared to the 2019-2018 season. Compared to the 2018-2018 season, it shows a growth rate of 15.9%.

According to the US Department of Agriculture, Russia remains the world’s largest exporter of wheat and exports 36 million tons of wheat in the 2020-2019 crop, which will be less than 37 million tons in the 2018-2018 crop.

During the 2018-2018 season, Russia exported 27.8 million tons of wheat to the world’s largest exporter. During this season, France has caught poor crops due to heavy rainfall, and its production fell to the lowest in the last 30 years. As a result, EU exports of wheat fell by 21.3% compared to the 2016-2015 season.

The EU has grown to the world’s largest wheat exporter for the first time in the 2015-2014 season with 35.4 million tonnes of wheat exports, and surpassed the United States, which exported 23 million tonnes.

According to Platts, the US Department of Agriculture predicted that the United States may fall to fourth place in the wheat export season of 2020-2019, after Canada. In the midst of a larger volume of exports from most of its competitors, American wheat exports to Latin American and Asian markets may be challenging.

With a high demand, particularly in the Southeast Asian and sub-Saharan Africa, global wheat trade is expected to grow 3 percent in the 2020-2019 season and climb to a record 184 million tons.
