The purchase price of 25 agricultural crops for the year 2019 was approved by the Economic Council and was notified to the secretariat by the Planning and Budget Organization.
According to reports, the price of these 25 product items were sent to the secretariat of the council by the Planning and Budget Organization in May this year for presentation in meetings.
On this basis, all prices were approved in recent years except the wheat (promised by the government to be purchased) rates and the work was postponed just because of the discrepancy in the price of wheat.
Agricultural minister, Mahmood Hojjati said that the purchase price rate of the wheat should rise to more than 1500 Tomans. However, the members had different opinions in this respect.
In light of the fact that the purchase sources of the wheat must be financed in the annual budget, the forecasted prices were lower than this amount, so the members of the Economic Council did not agree with the proposed price rate of the Minister of Agriculture.
The work process shows that the Economic Council, which the approval of the wheat being purchased by the government was initiated by them in the first place, has devoted several sessions to the issue of wheat purchase so that the Minister of Agriculture is able to provide evidence and documents to convince the members regarding the ministerial quote.
