The guaranteed purchase price of wheat rose to 1,700 Tomans

Papi Zadeh said today, the Commission
has consolidated the guaranteed purchase price per kg of wheat for the upcoming
crop to 1700 tomans .

Abbas Papizadeh, a member of the
Agriculture Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, announced the
increase in the guaranteed wheat purchase price and said: “Although the
Economic Council initially announced the guaranteed purchase price per kilo of
wheat 1470.98 tomans for the year 2018-2019, but again with the protest of the
farmers and The agricultural commission, it was revised to 1600 tomans.

He added: “Given the increase in
production costs and the stabilization of the wheat rate over the past two
years, parliamentarians had complaints on the rate of 1600 tomans in support of
farmers’ rights, and were constantly seeking to increase this rate.

Papi Zadeh continued: Today, at the
Commission, the rate of the guaranteed purchase price per kilogram of wheat
increased by 1,900 USD for the year 2018-2019, which could provide farmers with
a minimum of expense.

The Commissioner for Agriculture
endorsed the end: the Consolidation Commission considered increasing the
guaranteed purchase price of wheat in the next year’s budget bill, and it is
hoped that this increase would be openly agreed upon.
