Mohammad Reza Nasr said: “Thankfully, because of the climatic conditions and rainfall we have left, this year’s wheat production has a better quality status than last year, while this year factories will be allowed to directly purchase wheat, and naturally better quality wheat will enter the wheat cycle.”

Nasr said 70 percent of the population’s primary meal is wheat, flour and bread, and given the strategic nature of these industries, it is necessary to think for wheat imports in order to improve the quality of this chain.

He acknowledged that the main challenge of flour mills to produce high quality flour was the availability of high quality wheat and said: Since 1393, the price of flour has remained steady, and the current rate is not responsible for the costs of managing a flour unit in the current situation. Therefore, either the price of flour should be corrected or subsidies to flour mills be made to compensate for the deficit.
