Strategic silos will not be granted to private sectors
The head of the privatization organization said that the strategic silos, very large and connected to the railways, are not on the privatization list.
Mir Ali Ashraf Puri Hosseini, in the program “On the Economy Line,” Radio Economics, emphasizing that only small silos will be handed over to the private sector, added: “Silos are an asset and a firm that are used to keep wheat and essential goods.
He said that the delegation from the past two years that has seriously discussed the issue of the transfer of grain companies and commercial services and silos has led to decisions that include the dissolution of grain companies and commercial services.
The head of the privatization organization continued: Given the fact that some of the duties of corn companies and commercial services are somewhat of sovereignty and are related to the regulation of the market; the duties should be transferred to another section of the Ministry of Agriculture.
He also said that officials from the Office of Administrative Affairs and Recruitment have been obliged to provide a solution from the last 10 months to transfer the responsibilities of grain companies and commercial services to the Ministry of Agriculture and then these companies will be dissolved, which unfortunately, was not effected in due course.
Pouri Hosseini added that on this basis, the head of state emphasized that in the event of the transfer of the duties of the corporation and trading companies to the part of the Ministry of Agriculture, no other part would be left to the private sector, so after the transfer, the companies will be dissolved .
He announced that the two corn companies and commercial services had been assigned to the private sector in the past, which had reinstated it, saying that the president has not issued any orders to stop the silos being transferred to private sectors.
The head of the privatization organization, while pointing out that the size of the private sector’s silos with the public sector is roughly equal, said the government should undertake to cut back on its own business, so that the private sector becomes full.
He said that since the beginning of September this year, the Delegation had not held any meeting to approve the price of firms, he noted: There is no possibility of auctions even for firms with pricing law by the end of this year.
