Rising wheat prices affect bread rates
The spokesman for the government responded to farmers’ dissatisfaction with the
guaranteed purchase price of wheat, saying the increase in the price of wheat
would affect the price of bread, so the government would look at the whole
community to determine its purchase price.
Ali Rabiei told reporters at a national conference, it was the government’s agenda to determine
the appropriate rate of guaranteed purchases of agricultural products, which
had helped the villagers and reduced the migration from the villages; We have
even seen reverse migration in some of the country’s villages.
Referring to the fact that farmers are not satisfied with the guaranteed
purchase price of agricultural products, especially wheat, he added: “In
this context, we should pay attention to the growth rate of guaranteed wheat
purchase rate, which means that the increase in the guaranteed purchase price
of wheat affects the price of bread. So the government looks at the whole
community to determine the purchase price of this product.
Referring to the fact that the government also provides subsidized inputs to
farmers, Rabiei said: “An acceptable figure is set for a guaranteed
purchase rate of wheat; however, if we had more funds, we would like to see a
higher guaranteed purchase rate of agricultural products, including
wheat.”
Rabbi continued: In some years, the government will pay farmers 13-15 thousand
billion Tomans to buy wheat, which is a significant figure.
In another part of his speech, he said: The unemployment rate in rural areas of
the country has fallen by 1.1% and has fallen from 7.7% to 6.6%.
“I believe that the measures taken are still insufficient and the Monetary and
Credit Council should pay more attention to the micro-finance system,” he
said.
The spokesman for the government said: One of the problems of the villagers is
insurance and there should be activities that the villagers do not face during
the old age as well, which is the way of rural social security.
He noted that in the past six years, the number of rural insured has increased
by 5%, saying: One million eight hundred thousand people are related to rural
and nomadic insurance, of which 600,000 have migrated to other insurers and are
currently pensioners.
He added: “In total, one million two hundred thousand people pay premiums,
which we believe should increase to 2.5 million rural households.”
