According to statistics from the Planning and Budgeting Organization, over 13.4 million tons of wheat has been produced by farmers, of which about 9.5 million tons has been purchased.

The project of promoting the self-reliance factor on wheat production as a strategic product has been seriously pursued in recent years by the Ministry of Agriculture.

Depending on the project’s performance, the purchase rate of wheat has almost doubled from 4.8 million tons to 9.5 million tons in the period between the years 2013-2018.
