Deputy Minister of Industry: Bread is 25 percent more expensive

Deputy Interior Minister of the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade said that three scenarios have been raised to raise bread prices. According to him, the probability of an increase of 25% from other options is higher.

Abbas Ghobadi, at the seventh session of the Kurdistan Provincial Market Committee, said: “If we support production and produce enough goods, the complaints of the people and the need for inspections will be reduced, and the market will go to self-regulation.

He went on to state that there were three scenarios for raising bread prices, adding that the probability of a 25% increase in bread prices is agreed in three scenarios and will be submitted to the government in the near future.

Ghobadi has praised Kurdistan province’s efforts to produce high quality wheat and to become the second in ranking last year, saying: “This year, according to the current situation, Kurdistan has chance of obtaining the second rank in producing wheat.”

The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade continued to emphasize the coordination in the market organization of the country and the Kurdistan province, saying that the approvals of the headquarters are valid for all the devices.
