The deputy minister of Iran’s agricultural of Jihad said: “The country’s wheat crop storage saving is over 10 million and 500 thousand tons, which would adequately cover for more than a year need, and there is not any threats for shortage in this area.
 
With regard to the country’s wheat reserves, we are not worried about unilateral US sanctions being imposed against Iran, because agriculture is the last resort under sanctions.
According to him, since the beginning of the harvest season, eight million and 900 thousand tons of wheat worth 11,837 billion USD have been purchased from the local farmers and a large part of the claims have already been paid to them.
The director of Iran’s state-owned trading company has been planning to purchase at least 700,000 tons of wheat from farmers in the country’s cold regions by the end of the season.
“This year, despite a 26% decline in rainfall, we were able to raise wheat production in the country compared to the last year’s by increasing investment, developing irrigation under pressure and also by using appropriate seeds.
The decline of 20% in wheat pest  
Deputy Minister of Agricultural of Jihad, said one of the problems of wheat production, in recent years, was pesticides, and about 35% of the crop was lost, now by increasing awareness of farmers through training courses We have prevented this losses of production.
“Pest control of the wheat increases the quality & quantity of wheat production, and flour protein in bread.”
Mr. Saif said, that wheat purchased from Iran’s state-owned trading company is basically used for human consumption.
According to him, “wheat having more than 9% protein would be used for humans consumption.
